Re-testing Completed
June 23, 2008
On June 9th Nishikigoi.com submitted multiple serum samples to the University of California, Davis for KHV testing using the Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) for the detection of antibodies to the Koi Herpes Virus (KHV).
The samples were taken from koi in virtually every system and from every population in our Kenmore facility. All of the samples tested negative for KHV antibodies.
We would like to thank everyone for your patience, understanding, and for the overwhelming support and encouragement that we have received, and invite you to bid with confidence on the current Auction.
Auctions Extended to June 29
June 06, 2008
The ending time for the current Auctions has been extended to June 29th 2008.
We have just received word from one of our major suppliers in Japan, that Koi Herpes Virus (KHV) has been confirmed in one of their mud ponds.
The breeder has reported the incident to the Japanese authorities as required by Japanese law, and is preparing a public statement which will appear on their web site in the next few days.
Nishikigoi.com is an industry leader in quarantine, testing and health management protocols, and we take the threat of KHV very seriously.
In view of our close relationship with this breeder and the large number of koi that we have from their farm, we feel that it is only prudent that we re-test all our current inventory for KHV before allowing any koi to enter or leave our facility.
We anticipate that re-testing our current inventory from this breeder for Koi Herpes Virus antibodies will take between two to four weeks.
We understand and regret the inconvenience that this delay causes to Bidders who have shipments pending or are currently bidding, but until we can complete the re-testing, we feel that this is the proper precaution to take.
